It’s the same every year – you’ve eaten far too much food over Christmas but somehow there’s still plenty left, and you don’t want to waste it all by throwing it all away. Well here at Savvy towers we’ve put our heads together to come up with some great suggestions with what to do with all that food!

Over the next 11 days we’ll give you some great ideas to deal with the food mountain!

Turkey:

The mainstay of a Christmas dinner can sometimes be the source of much of the waste. Here are two options to deal with all that meat!

Pastries – Encase a mixture of all the meat with some fried onions, carrots and some cinnamon and seasoning inside some puff pastry parcels. Crimp the edges and brush with egg wash. Bake until golden.

Turkey Ceasar Salad – Blend some anchovies and garlic along with egg yolk, lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil. Toss with the Turkey meat, gem lettuce, crutons & Parmasan.

Brandy Butter:

Often overlooked as a reusable leftover, this little gem can go along way!

Victoria Sponge – Make a standard victoria sponge and sandwich the halves together with brandy butter and cranberry jam.

Brandy Biscuits – Use the brandy butter in place of regular butter in a ginger biscuit recipe. Chill the mixture for 20 minutes and then bake until golden.
