Driverless cars set to hit UK roads

Driverless cars set to hit UK roads in 2015

From January next year it really could be the case that you’ll see a driverless car on a British road – two years later than originally planned!

Business Secretary Vince Cable announced recently that the move would put the UK “at the forefront of this transformational technology” as well as “opening up new opportunities for our economy and society”

Experiments on driverless cars have been carried out for a few years now, and the UK isn’t the only country to be seriously considering taking the plunge on this advance in technology.

In the US alone Google’s driverless car has totted up more than 300,000 on open road – not just a test tracks. In addition the Swedish government has given Volvo permission to test 100 cars in 2017.
